The body of a young man was recovered near Lok Bhawan in Guwahati on Thursday, creating a stir in the area.
According to initial reports, the body was found inside a water tank associated with the Guwahati Municipal Corporation ( GMC) in the city.
The deceased has been identified as Jame Kamesh, who had been working at the site on a daily wage basis for a long time. The incident is believed to have occurred during the evening hours, though the exact circumstances remain unclear.
Police teams rushed to the spot. A forensic team was also called in to examine the scene, while senior officials, including the GMC Commissioner, reached the location to take stock of the situation.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and authorities have begun a detailed investigation.
