A retired senior assistant of Chaiduar College, Konwar breathed her last at around 8:30 am, leaving behind a rich legacy in Assamese literature and social service.
She was the elder sister of noted poet, litterateur and journalist Nagen Konwar and was widely respected for her contributions to Assam's literary and cultural landscape.
Throughout her life, Konwar remained actively associated with several literary and cultural organisations, including the Sadou Asom Kabi Sanmilan, Lekhika Samaroh, Assam Sahitya Sabha, Kabi Kanan, and various social, spiritual and cultural institutions in Gohpur.
Known for her simplicity, cultural values and dedication to literature, her demise has cast a pall of gloom across Gohpur, with members of the literary fraternity and local residents mourning the loss of a respected personality.
