In Netflix's adaptation, the character of Michael Stirling from the book has been reimagined as Michaela, signalling a deliberate shift towards sapphic representation within the Regency world of the ton. Netflix has not yet announced an exact release date for Bridgerton season 5, but production is under way in the UK, with trade reports and industry commentary pointing to a likely launch between late 2027 and early 2028. The show has established a pattern of biennial releases, and season 4, focused on Benedict Bridgerton, is scheduled for 2026, making a late-2020s debut for season 5 plausible.
As with previous instalments, the eight-episode Bridgerton season 5 will stream exclusively on Netflix worldwide, continuing the platform's flagship romantic period drama franchise.
Netflix has already renewed Bridgerton through season 6, underscoring its confidence in the long-running appeal of the series.
