Delta Air Lines has announced a series of senior leadership changes as part of its strategy to strengthen organizational leadership and support the airline's long-term growth plans.
Peter Carter- Promoted to President
CEO Ed Bastian confirmed the promotion of Peter Carter to President. In his expanded role, Peter will take on broader responsibilities driving enterprise strategy in addition to overseeing global policy & legal matters, the company's international portfolio, real estate, sustainability, and diversity teams.
Peter has been with the airlines for more than a decade and has led several strategic initiatives across the company.
Dan Janki- Appointed as Chief Operating Officer
Following the announcement that John Laughter will retire, Dan Janki will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer, effective after Laughter's retirement on April 30.
In his new role as COO, Dan Janki will oversee the brand's operational divisions, including Airport Customer Service, Flight Operations, In-Flight Service, the Operations & Customer Center, Reservation Sales and Customer Care, Technical Operations, and Corporate Safety, Security and Compliance.
Alain Bellemare- Appointed as Chairman of Delta TechOps
Alain Bellemare, currently serving as EVP and President - International, will also take on additional responsibilities as Chairman of Delta TechOps, bringing his international industry experience to the technical operations division.
Erik Snell- Appointed as Chief Financial Officer
The airline has also named Erik Snell as Chief Financial Officer. Erik joined Delta two decades ago in finance and most recently served as Chief Customer Experience Officer. In his new role, he will oversee Delta's finance organization, fleet and supply chain teams, as well as the airline's refinery subsidiary Monroe Energy.
Ranjan Goswami- Appointed as Chief Marketing and Product Officer
Alicia Tillman will step down from her role as Chief Marketing Officer to pursue opportunities outside the company. Following her departure, Ranjan Goswami will take on the role of Chief Marketing and Product Officer.
