Goa Tourism Promotes MICE at TTF Kolkata

Goa Tourism Highlights MICE, Weddings and Leisure Travel at TTF Kolkata

Goa Tourism participated in TTF (Travel & Tourism Fair) Kolkata 2026, with Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon'ble Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa, leading the state's delegation and promoting Goa as a destination for leisure holidays, business events and destination weddings.

The campaign highlighted Goa's growing appeal beyond beach tourism, encouraging travellers from Eastern India to explore the state for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions), weddings, cultural experiences and short leisure breaks.

Focus on the 'Goa Beyond Beaches' Vision

Speaking at the Goa Tourism pavilion, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte outlined the state's 'Goa Beyond Beaches' initiative, which focuses on heritage, hinterland tourism, cultural experiences, spiritual circuits and sustainable tourism alongside its coastal attractions.

He also highlighted the direct flight connectivity between Kolkata and Goa, with multiple weekly services operated by IndiGo, making the destination easily accessible for travellers from West Bengal and neighbouring states.

Shri Rohan A. Khaunte said:

"Kolkata is less than a three-hour direct flight from Goa. We want travellers from West Bengal to consider Goa not only for beach holidays, but also for weddings, conferences, family holidays and cultural experiences. We continue to invest in hospitality, heritage and experiences that showcase another side of Goa."

Growing Focus on MICE and Weddings

Goa Tourism highlighted the state's growing role as a destination for business events and weddings.

The department noted that India Energy Week 2026, hosted in Goa, attracted more than 75,000 delegates and 700 exhibitors from over 120 countries, demonstrating the state's capacity to host large-scale conferences and exhibitions.

The tourism department also cited the continued growth of destination weddings in Goa, supported by a range of resorts, heritage venues and hospitality facilities.

Strengthening Eastern India Connections

TTF Kolkata attracts travel professionals from West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and the wider eastern and north-eastern region, making it an important platform for Goa Tourism to engage with travel agents, tour operators, wedding planners and corporate event organisers.

The department said it will continue to strengthen partnerships in Eastern India to promote leisure travel, business events, and wedding tourism to Goa.
