TAT Showcases Running Man Thailand Through Entertainment Tourism

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has highlighted the success of the first season of Running Man Thailand, saying the programme helped showcase the country's destinations, culture and local experiences to audiences in Thailand and overseas.

According to TAT, the series generated 6.85 billion impressions, more than 390 million online views and over 10 million digital engagements across multiple platforms. Produced as an iQIYI Original in collaboration with SBS Studio Prism, the programme used a travel-race format to introduce viewers to destinations across Thailand.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor, Tourism Authority of Thailand, said:

"The response to Running Man Thailand demonstrates how entertainment can help introduce Thailand's tourism experiences to wider audiences. By featuring destinations, culture and local communities within the programme, the collaboration supported both international awareness and domestic travel while encouraging people to explore different parts of the country."

TAT supported the production through destination content, tourism featurettes and the integration of the Amazing Thailand campaign throughout the series.

Premiering on 22 February 2026, the 10-episode programme aired weekly on One31 and featured seven Thai entertainers participating in travel-themed challenges across the country.

Filming locations included Bangkok's Grand Palace, the Giant Swing, historic neighbourhoods, and attractions in Pattaya, including floating markets and beaches.

According to TAT, the programme became Thailand's most-searched variety show on Google Trends in 2026, regularly ranked among the most-discussed topics on X (formerly Twitter) in Thailand, and trended in more than 10 countries.

The tourism campaign also featured two promotional videos introducing destinations through Thai personalities and generated additional engagement across iQIYI Thailand's digital platforms.

TAT said the programme forms part of its ongoing strategy to promote Thailand through entertainment-led tourism marketing while encouraging visitors to explore destinations across the country.
