Layvern brings more than 12 years of luxury Caribbean hospitality experience across resort operations, guest relations, housekeeping, concierge services, sales, reservations and operational strategy. Her cross-functional experience covers both guest-facing and commercial functions.

Throughout her career, Layvern has worked across pre-arrival services, concierge operations, VIP guest requests, service recovery, reservations and team training. She has also collaborated with marketing teams and ownership on management and brand optimisation, while developing relationships with travel advisors, tour operators and industry partners.

Her experience includes exposure to luxury travel networks and programmes, including Small Luxury Hotels of the World and other international travel networks.

Layvern was named Manager of the Year in 2025 and selected for the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association's Young Leaders Forum for 2025-2026. Her leadership experience also includes quality assurance, interdepartmental coordination, staff development and guest satisfaction.

In her new role, Layvern will lead The Retreat through its pre-opening and opening phases, overseeing operational and service standards, team development and guest experience.

Layvern holds a master's degree in Sustainable Management of Tourism and a bachelor's degree from Monroe College. She is proficient in English, Spanish and St. Lucian Creole.

The Retreat Turks & Caicos is a locally developed boutique hotel in Grace Bay, Providenciales, founded by Turks and Caicos Islander Trevor Musgrove. The property is scheduled to open in October 2026.
