Lokesh Brings Global AC Giant Carrier to Andhra Pradesh With Rs 1,000 Crore Investment

Andhra Pradesh has attracted another major international investment with global air conditioning manufacturer Carrier announcing a massive manufacturing facility in Sri City.

Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the company's new AC manufacturing unit in Sri City industrial zone located in Satyavedu constituency of Tirupati district.

Lokesh received a grand welcome from company representatives before participating in the groundbreaking ceremony along with Carrier Global Corporation Chairman and CEO David L. Gitlin. The upcoming facility is expected to be developed with an investment of nearly Rs 1,000 crore and is projected to generate around 3,000 employment opportunities in the region.

Carrier, one of the world's leading air conditioning and HVAC companies, has been operating in India for more than five decades. The company currently has a manufacturing unit in Gurugram and a Global Center for Excellence in Hyderabad. With growing demand for HVAC and cooling solutions across India and international markets, the new Sri City plant is expected to significantly strengthen Carrier's production capacity and operational reach.

The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated 39 acres of land for the project at Aruru within the Sri City industrial area. The new facility will focus on advanced HVAC manufacturing and related products, further boosting the state's industrial growth and positioning Andhra Pradesh as a preferred destination for global manufacturing investments.

Senior executives from Carrier Global Corporation, including Climate Solutions APAC and Middle East & Africa President Michael L. Geerts, Carrier India Managing Director Sundaresan Narayanan, and other top officials attended the event. Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad and Sri City Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy were also present during the ceremony.
