RCB vs DC, IPL 2026: When Did Royal Challengers Bengaluru Last Lose at Chinnaswamy? David Miller-Starrer Delhi Capitals Snap Unbeaten Streak

RCB vs DC, IPL 2026: Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) unbeaten run at home came to an end as the Delhi Capitals won an absolute humdinger, thanks to David Miller, in the IPL 2026 game on April 18, Saturday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Having lost their first game at home this season, it is also their first defeat at the storied venue of the Chinnaswamy Stadium since the middle phase of IPL 2025.

RCB vs DC, IPL 2026: When was the last time Royal Challengers Bengaluru lost a game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium?

It was in the rain-shortened IPL 2025 game against the Punjab Kings when the Royal Challengers last crashed to a defeat in their backyard and it occurred precisely a year ago. In what was a 14-over shootout due to showers, the hosts managed only 95. In response, the Punjab Kings got over the line with five wickets to spare, chasing down the target in 12.1 overs. The defending champions began their IPL 2026 campaign with a comprehensive win over the SunRisers Hyderabad and beat the Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants as comfortably.

It was Capitals skipper Axar Patel, who won the toss and sent the defending champions into bat. Virat Kohli and Phil Salt started once again in fiery fashion, stitching a 52-run stand, broken by Lungi Ngidi by dismissing the former for 19. Nevertheless, Phil Salt reached his second half-century of the season before falling for 63 off 38 deliveries. But the remaining RCB batters struggled, with only Tim David going past 20 as the Capitals bowled outstandingly at the death, hardly allowing the Royal Challengers to get any big overs under their belt. Ngidi, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel picked up two wickets to limit the hosts to 175/8 in 20 overs.

The Capitals began their run-chase in horrid fashion as Pathum Nissanka (1), Karun Nair (5) and Sameer Rizvi (2) perished cheaply. But KL Rahul, along with Tristan Stubbs, restored some semblance of control with a 69-run stand. Krunal Pandya broke the stand by sending Rahul packing for 57 but the Capitals found another 47-run partnership between Stubbs and Axar Patel.

After Axar walked off the ground due to cramps, the Royal Challengers sensed blood and dried up the boundaries. It all came down to 15 off the final over. Despite a couple of excellent deliveries, David Miller was able to clear the fence twice to seal the victory.
