Mumbai: The revamped reality competition MasterChef Asia, produced by Warner Bros. Discovery and CreAsia Studio, part of Endemol Shine India, and distributed internationally by Banijay Rights, is set to premiere on TLC in India on September 22 at 9 pm.
The line-up includes Vietnamese-Australian chef Khanh Ong; restaurant owner Sahadol "Pond" Tantrapim; Malaysian pastry chef Marcus Low; Korean gastronomy specialist Areum Yoon; and Asian cuisine chefs Audrey Wicksana, Therese Lum, Mime Kataniwa and Ivory Yat. Representing Macao is Sandy Tang, while Nambie Jessica Marak, the 'Culinary and Cultural Ambassador of Meghalaya', is the only contestant from India on the series. The show will also feature guest judges Mark Wiens, Abi Marquez, Chef Ken Chong and Chef Julien Tongourian. Produced in partnership with the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the series was filmed across locations including local markets, Michelin-starred restaurants and an exclusive MasterChef Asia kitchen. Contestants will compete in challenges designed to test their culinary skills, creativity and versatility. MasterChef is represented internationally by Banijay Entertainment and is recognised by Guinness World Records as the world's most successful cookery television format. Created by Franc Roddam and first launched in 1990, the format has been commissioned across 74 markets, with more than 750 seasons and 16,000 episodes aired to date. In India, MasterChef Asia will premiere on TLC on September 22 at 9 pm, followed by its availability on discovery+ from October 2.
