Mumbai: Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) has rolled out its global 'Dive Together' campaign, aimed at encouraging certified divers and enthusiasts to introduce friends and family to the underwater world through its Open Water Diver eLearning program.
"India has plenty of world-class diving locations in Lakshadweep and Andaman Islands, in addition to mainland destinations like Puducherry, Goa, Kerala, and more. So naturally, more Indians are learning to dive in recent years. Scuba diving is not just about exploring the ocean but sharing the experience. As a buddy activity, diving becomes more exciting and meaningful when shared with others.
We hope campaigns like 'Dive Together' incentivise and encourage more people to share the joy of discovering the underwater world together," said Vinod Bondi, Regional Manager for India and Sri Lanka. The campaign builds on a broader industry shift towards experiential engagement, where peer-driven communities are increasingly influencing participation in lifestyle and adventure activities. By tapping into this trend, PADI aims to make diving more accessible while fostering a sense of shared discovery. The PADI Open Water Diver eLearning program allows participants to complete theoretical lessons online before undertaking practical training at a PADI Dive Centre or Resort. With rising interest in adventure travel and water-based experiences, initiatives like 'Dive Together' signal a renewed push towards participation, accessibility, and community-building in the global diving landscape.
