Vizag is indeed developing into an IT/ AI hub. After tech giants like Google, TCS and Infosys have set up offices in Vizag, IBM is set to make a return to the emerging AI capital of the country.
IBM registered with the Software Technology Park of India. STPI welcomed the tech company by posting 'welcome IBM' on X. The hunt is on for a suitable space to open office in the city. IBM will be producing products for export in the coming three years and will provide employment to 502 people.
But the return can be attributed to brand Chandrababu who has changed the future of Vizag. In the past, IBM set up shop in Vizag during Jagan's term, IBM took 25 acres allotted to another company on Rushikonda Hill 3. However, as IBM did not show huge employment prospects, IBM was given 3.2 acres and the rest was given to STPI. IBM sold its building and exited from Vizag.
However, given the robust growth of Vizag and the changes in technology aspirations, IBM has returned to Vizag, to be part of Vizag's tech revolution.
