YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to alter his travel route following recent police restrictions. The move comes after arrests of several YSRCP leaders during his Guntur tour.
The visit was to meet the family of Ambati Rambabu.
The Guntur tour drew criticism after roads were blocked till Karakatta. Commuters faced long traffic jams and major delays. This led to negative public feedback against YSRCP.
Following the backlash, the party revised plans for Jagan's Vijayawada visit. Jagan is scheduled to visit the family of Jogi Ramesh on Friday. The visit is intended to express solidarity with the family.
The route change was made to ensure public convenience and safety. Instead of crossing the Vijayawada bridge, Jagan's convoy will travel via the western bypass and Ibrahimpatnam. This revised plan aims to avoid traffic disruption.
Police have deployed heavy bandobast along the west bypass and Ibrahimpatnam. Security measures are in place to maintain law and order. Authorities want to ensure smooth traffic flow during the visit.
Earlier, Jagan had planned to cross the Vijayawada bridge. On Thursday night, he received notices from the Vijayawada commissioner asking for a route change. Police cited the bridge's importance for traffic and emergency movement.
Based on these restrictions and notices, Jagan agreed to alter his route. The decision is being seen as an effort to comply with rules and reduce inconvenience to the public.
