YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, YSRCP chief, will visit Guntur on Wednesday. He is set to meet and express support to the family of former minister and YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu, who is currently in remand.
Ambati Rambabu was arrested after allegedly attempting to remove flexis put up by Telugu Desam Party regarding the adulterated ghee case. During a heated argument with the police, he reportedly used cuss words against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The incident triggered strong reactions from TDP cadre and several citizens across Andhra Pradesh. Following the incident, Ambati Rambabu was sent to 14 days of remand.
The issue further escalated when Ambati's daughters addressed the media in his support. They stated that the language used by their father was in the heat of the moment.
They also argued that he could have apologised and that sending him to remand was unnecessary. Their statements have added another layer to the ongoing political debate.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is expected to meet and console the family during his Guntur visit. Police have announced that Act 30 will be imposed in the city as a precautionary measure.
