Ram Gopal Varma recently created headlines while recalling one of the tracks from his cult classic film, Rangeela. Notably, the film's soundtrack continues to remain popular and the credit goes to AR Rahman for the same.
The popular director once said in an interview that the song Hai Rama was the only thing that did not impress him.
Outdated Director's Plan To 'Trap' Superstar
RGV stated that his initial plan was to get something similar to Kate Nahin Kat Ke from Anil Kapoor's Mr. India and approached Rahman for the same.
While Rahman created Hai Rama for the scene planned by RGV, the latter considered the track a mistake since he wanted an "erotic number." Although RGV spoke to Rahman, the music director told him that the song could be used for the same situation.
Controversial & Ambitious Biopic: What's Stopping?
Despite all this, RGV eventually liked the track and Rahman was also confident that the song would be a perfect fit for the film.
Rahman, who was also speaking in the same interview, claimed that RGV was walking throughout the studio during the shooting and was blown away when the orchestration was complete.
Superstar's Next: "Way Ahead of Cult Classic"
There was a time when RGV used to make films that were loved by the audience. Unfortunately, his work has deteriorated now and he hardly delivers Jungle, Mast, Bhoot, or Rakta Charitra.
Things have taken a worse turn due to RGV's recent legal issue where an arrest warrant was issued for him.
This happened after he morphed the pictures of Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan in a derogatory manner in the past. RGV even posted the pictures on social media.
