Supreme Court Questions CBI In Viveka Case

The Supreme Court of India questioned the CBI on the need for further inquiry in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. The Court said that if more inquiry is required, the agency must clearly name those who need to be interrogated.

The Supreme Court bench headed by MM Sudaresh heard the matter based on a petition filed by Vivekananda Reddy's daughter Sunitha. She challenged the verdict delivered earlier by the Trial Court in the case.

The bench stated that it would examine the request if the names of persons proposed for custody and questioning are submitted. Following this observation, the Court adjourned the next hearing to February 5.

Vivekananda Reddy was axed to death on March 15, 2019, at his residence in Pulivendula. The incident was initially reported as a heart attack. It was later established that he was murdered.

Since then, the case has continued to trouble the YS family. Sunitha has remained persistent in her legal battle, seeking justice for her father and clarity on the circumstances surrounding his killing.
