The IT & HR Minister of Andhra Pradesh is part of CM Chandrababu's team at Davos, Switzerland. Seen as the next obvious heir to Chandrababu, Lokesh carries growing influence with global investors.

His comments at Davos reflected that weight.

Nara Lokesh said Davos means two things for the state. It helps them learn which sectors are hot and where investments are flowing. He recalled how last year led to many talks. Several announcements and ground breakings followed.

He told the English channel that many new conversations have already started. You will hear good news in the next 90 days. Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh believes in speed of doing business. He added that the timing is right.

When asked about focus areas, Lokesh said the state is working on 22 clusters this year. These range from aqua and cement to renewable energy and quantum. Andhra Pradesh believes in building sector wise clusters for long term scale.

He explained that companies in the same sector should be in one cluster. This helps them survive and grow. It also makes economies of scale meaningful. This cluster based approach is a core part of the state's strategy.

Lokesh did not reveal exact investment numbers. He said investments are an ongoing process. The IT & HR Minister added that when states compete, India wins. He noted that 10 states were present at Davos this year.

On AI and the quantum Valley, Lokesh said a 153 qubit quantum computer will arrive this month. He said work on use cases is already underway. This shows Andhra Pradesh is serious about advanced technology.

He also spoke about plans for glass and drone sectors. Lokesh said they are thinking about building a glass city and a drone city. Skyroot is setting up operations in Andhra Pradesh as part of this push.

Adding a lighter note, Lokesh said a lot can happen over a cup of hot chocolate. He recalled that deals with Cognizant and TCS were signed at Davos. Cognizant placements grew from 8000 to 25,000.

Lokesh said the lift policy gives Andhra Pradesh a strong edge. He feels companies will soon start using it. He said land is just one part of growth. The state focuses on building a full vertical and horizontal ecosystem.

He explained that his HR Ministry builds the talent pool. It also ensures testing, certification and integration facilities are ready. Andhra Pradesh already makes 50 percent of air conditioners. With three new deals, this will rise to 70 percent.

Lokesh spoke about automobile, pharma, medical and quantum sectors. He said Andhra Pradesh has the second longest coastline. This helps the state deliver what others cannot. It also supports its strong cluster based growth model.

On ship building, Lokesh said an agreement was signed with Moller Mearsk. Talks are also on with global ocean liners to develop ports. He said a maritime defence cluster is planned as a start up ecosystem.

When asked about jobs, Lokesh said 400,000 jobs have already been created. The goal is 2 million jobs in five years. He said this was a promise made during the election campaign and they are working to meet it.

Looking ahead to 2026, Lokesh said the focus will be on improving speed of doing business. He said they will work with the Government of India on decriminalising laws and labour reforms to support growth.

When asked if Andhra Pradesh is back, Lokesh said absolutely. He claimed the state has attracted 25.3 percent of investments in India. He said they are ready to do business and just a WhatsApp away.
